Bridging Biotech: Building Science Together

At Bridging Biotech, we believe that science grows stronger when it is shared. That’s why we are making openly accessible the theoretical studies that emerged from the connections we built between Türkiye and Portugal in 2025.

Our goal is to support scientific productivity, increase the visibility of early-career researchers, and promote meaningful international collaboration.

To us, science is not limited to laboratories. It brings people together, crosses borders, and deepens through open exchange. We believe in its power to overcome geographical, institutional, and societal barriers. That is why we connect individuals, countries, and institutions to help shape a more inclusive, collaborative, and future-oriented research culture.

Our first step was a mentorship program linking Türkiye and Portugal. In this program, we paired female academics with early-career researchers, creating a space where knowledge, trust, inspiration, and experience could be shared. Gender inequality in science remains a serious issue. Despite often being highly productive, women scientists are still underrepresented. This is not just an individual injustice, but a collective loss for science as a whole.

During the program, ideas flowed freely. Perspectives from different backgrounds came together. A shared scientific dialogue emerged. The entire process became more open, more human, and more equitable. That’s why we’re sharing the outcomes through open access. We believe science should be available to everyone.

We are now excited to take the next step. The Spain and Türkiye Mentorship Program is on its way.
